Mizes, James Christopher, an anthropologist and geographer at the Institut de recherche interdisciplinaire en sciences sociales (IRISSO) at the Université Paris-Dauphine. His research explores the fiscal and financial politics of West African cities, mainly in Dakar and Abidjan. He analyses how officials, experts, and popular movements are today framing old problems of political liberation with new financial terms and techniques.
