Embark on the Evolution of FinGeo: A Remarkable Journey
FinGeo's journey began with the Geographies of Finance and Post-Socialist Transformations Research Network in 2010-13, funded by the Regional Studies Association. This network hosted three international seminars, fostering collaborations and a growing email list.

In 2015, the Global Network on Financial Geography (FinGeo) was born, uniting research networks. With support from various institutions, FinGeo was launched publicly in Oxford in August 2015.

Initial funds came from the Regional Studies Association and collaborations with Vrije Universiteit Brussel and others. An International Working Group (pictured below, after the launch) shaped FinGeo's mission, governance, and strategy, leading to the inaugural Executive Committee in August 2016.
