2022/08/06 Financial Centres of the Future – What Role for Latin America and Africa?

We’re organizing a workshop on ‘Financial Centres of the Future – What Role for Latin America and Africa?’ at the Development Studies Association, which will take place virtually this year between 6-8 July (https://www.devstud.org.uk/conference/conference-2022/programme/#11279).

The workshop will explore the current and future role of African and Latin American financial centres in just and sustainable development. Its aim is to develop a research project on how finance in those regional centres can contribute to addressing the climate crisis and economic inequality.

The workshop program is more interactive than the usual paper presentations and will mainly consist of a discussion based on prior inputs with the aim to develop an outline for a future research agenda. Hence, we are looking for papers, research notes and other contributions that can serve as background for the workshop.

If you are interested or working on African and Latin American financial centres and the role they could take in a just and sustainable development, please submit your contribution to our workshop via https://nomadit.co.uk/conference/dsa2022/p/11279. The deadline for contribution submissions is 4 March 2022.
